IndianOil R&D Signs Tripartite Agreement For Setting Up Biomethanation Plant
Indian Oil Corporation Limited under the CSR scheme, a tripartite agreement was signed with MCF and Ecogreen for implantation of indigenous Biomethanation technology and an LOI was exchanged between ISKCON & HSVP for the facilitation and utilization of the manure and biogas generated out of the unit.
The minister complimented the Director R&D and his team for the thoughtfulness behind the MOU and LOI by which the various stakeholders i.e. MCF, Ecogreen, ISKCON HSVP and each citizen of this place are joining hands to make Faridabad a smart city. The Minister also acknowledged other CSR initiatives taken up by Indian Oil’s R&D specifically in adopting the Dulhepur village.
“ It is a momentous day as a landmark agreement is signed and exchanged under the CSR scheme contributing towards the ‘Swach Bharat Mission’ of the country through the Biomethanation technology developed by our scientists” commented Dr Ramakumar on the occasion. He also briefed the salient features of the technology and its advantage over the existing technologies. Dr Ramakumar also appraised the minister of the various vibrant research programs of the centre and about the Trust reposed by the Government of India as IndianOil is providing all products for defence applications. M/s. Ecogreen Energy Private Limited, entrusted with the task of collecting city waste in Faridabad by MCF will be supplying the segregated organic kitchen waste to this proposed biogas plant and will also transport the generated biogas from the plant to Faridabad kitchen in sector-7 of ISKCON Food Relief Foundation. The unique social initiative by setting up a kitchen waste-to-biogas plant – the Biomethanation unit - will produce enough biogas on daily basis to cook the mid-day meal for 60,000 school children serviced under mid-day meal scheme of Faridabad. Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has contributed by permitting to use a land parcel of about 3000 sq meters in the backyard of sector-13 where Indian Oil R&D Centre is located for setting up this plant. This plant will be constructed at an estimated expenditure of approx 5 cr which includes 3 years of operational cost.
